IEEE: CASE STUDY- REGISTRATION AND BUDGETING SYSTEM
IEEE's Nuclear Plasma and Sciences Society partnered with CyberSense to automate and simplify the planning of and registration for their large annual conferences. This led to the development of two tools: an online conference registration and payment system and a conference budgeting system.
The conference registration and payment system was built with a user interface and ordering process that was speedy enough to impress the savvy technologists within the Society, and its 128-bit encryption process kept all the registrant data safe and sound. The system included a full administrative and financial reporting backend, which gave the IEEE real-time access to registration data so they could see how many people were coming to an event, who still needed hotels and special meals, who wanted to participate in extracurricular activities, and so on.
The budgeting system allowed conference planners, treasurers, and Society administrators to have a tiered and unified budgeting and approval process for all of their conferences. This secure system allows for the planning of every expense and income associated with a conference, including custom budget fields, an approval and feedback process, and budget snapshots which can be taken at any time.
These two new systems enabled the Society to reduce the costs associated with maintaining and organizing events while helping enhance customer service.
